We want kids to G.L.O.W. in the dark!  Grow in the Lord, Love the Lord, Obey the Lord and Witness to their friends.

We love kids and are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for them. Creative, age-appropriate activities are planned to help children learn about God and His plans for them. Sunday and Wednesday programs and special events throughout the year offer many opportunities to learn and make new friends. Fun, friends, and adults who love kids make Cary First Baptist THE place to be for children of all ages.

If you are a first time guest, or have any questions about this ministry, please contact Shannon Simpson, Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries or Tracy Roberts, Assistant Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries at 467-6356. Or send us an e-mail through this website.

Awana: Join us on Sunday evenings for AWANA! Awana club is an international, nondenominational  ministry whose focus is to bring children to Christ and train them to serve Him. Children ages 3 through 5th grade are encouraged to attend. Each week features a different theme and children are involved in scripture memorization, counsel time and a 25 minute game time in the gym. Our Awana Store is also open on special nights throughout the year to give kids the chance to spend their hard-earned Awana bucks! Click here to get more detailed information about our Awana program.

Children’s Worship: We offer a special children’s worship for K-5th graders during the 10:30 am service. Children accompany their parents to the adult worship and  leave shortly before the sermon begins. A slide on the overhead screen will announce when the children should stand up and make their way to the back of the  sanctuary. Adult volunteers will meet the children and escort them downstairs to the Dining Hall for a kid-friendly worship service where we learn about the Lord, play games and sing praise songs. (We do not have children’s worship on the 5th Sunday of the month which occurs 4 times a year).  Click here for more detailed information on Children’s Worship.

On August 28 we will begin a new 9 week series: Joshua-EXTREME hero
Joshua was an EXTREME hero from the Bible. Throughout his life, Joshua had to do some EXTREME things in order to fulfill God’s plan for his life. It started a long time before we ever see him in the battle of Jericho. In this series, kids will learn about the EXTREME preparation that God put Joshua through to get him ready to lead the nation of Israel. Then, they will look at the EXTREME fears that Joshua had to conquer as he took over for Moses as leader of God’s people.

Girls in Action (GAs): GAs are 1st through 5th grade girls who meet together to learn about countries where Southern Baptist missionaries serve. Games, crafts, mission studies and earning badges are all a part of the Wednesday evening activities that teach the girls about missions GAs are involved in different ministry projects throughout the year. They also enjoy making new friends at the Fall and Spring Lock-In each year.

Royal Ambassadors (RAs): RAs are 1st through 5th grade boys who meet together to learn about missions and how to live a godly life. Games, Bible studies, working on badges, and learning how to live out the RA Pledge are all incorporated into the Wednesday evening class time. RA’s have the opportunity to participate in a Father/Son campout each Fall and participate in a Pinewood Derby in early spring.

Volunteer Background Check Form
FBC Cary requires that all volunteers who work with children under the age of 18 to complete a background check. Having a background check on church staff and volunteers helps to safeguard our church, our members and (most importantly!) our children. Background checks are completely confidential.  Please print this form and return it to Shannon Simpson or Tracy Roberts.
