The Church Basketball League (CBL) 2008 season begins Wednesday January 9th.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH - 2008 CBL RULES

Games will be officiated using NCHSAA rules with the following exceptions:

1) Games will consist of two (2) twenty (20) minute halves

2) Clock stops only under the following conditions

- Timeouts

- Free Throws

- All whistles during the final 2 minutes of the game

3) Each team gets 2 timeouts per half and do not carry over

4) Overtime period is three (3) minutes. Each team gets 1 timeout during the overtime period

5) Teams will be given 5 minutes to warm up prior to the start of the game

Other league rules

1) No dunking is allowed

2) No profanity is allowed. Officials will be instructed to issue a technical foul if profanity is used

3) If a player is ejected from a game he must leave the gym immediately. The following

disciplinary action will apply:

- First offense: 1 game suspension

- Second offense: suspended for the rest of the season

4) Players must wear league provided matching jerseys

5) Players must wear non scuff basketball shoes

6) Game time is forfeit time (first game has a 5 minute grace period)

7) Players can not be added to a roster unless approved by the league board and the director

8) League fee ($55) must be paid prior to the second game of the season

Establish a closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Play with an attitude that is pleasing to God

Play competitively, but fairly and in a spirit of fellowship

Actively participate in devotionals before/after the game

Regularly attend worship services
