What is Upward Basketball?
Upward Basketball is a program designed to give children (both boys and girls) and their families a positive sports experience by partnering with local churches to build character, self esteem and salvation. The season will incorporate practice, games, devotions, and a celebration event at the end of the season. The emphasis is on skill development and spiritual growth.
Who can play?
We welcome all Kindergarten through 5th grade boys and girls in the Cary area to sign up and play; however, registration is now closed.
Key dates for the 2009-2010 season:
(all events are conducted in the FBC gym located on the 2nd floor )
Practices Begin - Tuesday, December 8, 2009
First Game - Saturday, January 9, 2010
Awards Celebration - Friday, March 5, 2010
Does our league need volunteers?
Absolutely! The Upward Team is requesting the following volunteers:
- Prayer partners
- Coaches
- Referees
- Devotion speakers
- Time keepers
- Gym set-up and clean-up
To apply for a coaching or referee role, please print and complete the following forms, and submit them to the church office.
 If you would like to volunteer or have any further questions, please contact the church office or call anyone on the Upward Leadership Team: Tom Atkins, Wendy Beeler, Ray Chandler, Mike DeVoss, Jason Hall, Larry Hall, Bruce Jacobs, Eric Lamb, Jim Lee, Anthony Locklear, Jerry Parker, or Will Whipple.
