Join us for a big country breakfast at 7:45 and then GO!There are many service projects for the day. You can sign up for a project on the “Wall of Need” in the Dining Hall or REGISTER HERE!

Could you or your Sunday school class help with some of the needs shown below? If you are donating goods, please bring them (except homemade baked goods) to the Church Office by Wednesday, October 1.

Moore Square (10-12 volunteers) Workers will be there from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Workers needed to give out bags and talk with people about Jesus
We would like to distribute 100-125 bags containing:

  • Band aids/Alcohol wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Deodorant
  • Small shampoo/conditioner
  • Small comb
  • Razor
  • Bar of soap/washcloth
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste

Hand of Hope (10-12 volunteers)
We need the following items:

  • Hand soap
  • Toilet tissue/paper towels
  • Kleenex
  • Diapers (any size)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Ink pens
  • Any other office supplies

Firemen Goody Baskets (10 adults and children) Baskets will be delivered to 8 different fire stations and possibly the Town of Cary police station

We need 8 of the following:

  • Baskets (extra large)
  • 6 bags snack-size chips or other snack food
  • 4 bags microwave popcorn
  • 1 bag candy
  • 6 packs of snack crackers
  • 6 pieces of fruit (oranges and apples)
  • 1 can of nuts
  • 2 dozen homemade cookies-Bring to church on Friday, October 3 by noon
  • 1 loaf of homemade sweetbread (like banana nut)-Bring to church on Friday, October 3 by noon.
  • Red, white & blue tissue paper

With Love from Jesus (a minimum of 10 adults, children must be over 8 years old to work. We will leave the church at 8:45 am to head to With Love from Jesus. We will work from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. Work involves checkout, deli table, stocking, clothes, prayer room, household and dock. First time workers are welcome

Food Bank Central and Eastern NC (Up to 40 volunteers needed) We will leave around 8:15 am and work until noon. Work will be sorting store salvage; repacking bulk items into smaller packages building backpacks for distribution (Backpack Buddies). The FBC Bus is available, and we can also carpool

Free Coat Distribution (50 volunteers). We need workers helping with crowd control, helping shoppers, registration, parking, directions and prayer team. We also need people on Friday, October 3 from 9 am to 2:pm to set up tables and set out the coats

 Join us for our 14th annual
Appalachian Mission Trip
November 7-9, 2014

We will work with Appalachian Outreach in the Johnson City area of Tennessee. We will work at the coat distribution center and give out coats, blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, and space heaters to needy families.We will also have 2 or 3 construction projects which could range from building a wheelchair ramp, to painting, to cool-sealing.

Please pray about joining us, you will be blessed! If you are unable to go, please consider donating to offset trip expenses.

The Great Commission is at the heart of our Missions program at First Baptist Church.  Our church family can participate in mission activities here in Cary, throughout North Carolina, the United States, and other places around the world.

Opportunities include:

  • Local and International Mission Trips
  • Monthly With Love from Jesus food drive
  • Workdays at With Love from Jesus several times a year
  • Operation In as Much (one Saturday in April)
  • Touching Lives for Christ (TLC)-1st Saturday in October
  • Appalachia Outreach Trip—annual mission trip to Appalachia in November
  • Thanksgiving meals—prepare and distribute meals on Thanksgiving day to our men and women in service and to the needy
  • Operation Christmas Child—FBC is a relay center for receiving shoeboxes from churches and people in the community
  • Operation Christmas Child (working at the distribution center in Charlotte)
  • Partnership with G.H. Lacy Baptist Theological Seminary, Oaxaca, Mexico
