 Pastor and Staff is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Cary, NC. Prior to coming to First Baptist, Pastor Jay was Senior Pastor of Shindler Drive Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, FL. This was a ministry he and his wife, Shirley, founded in 1987. Shindler Drive has been recognized by Lifeway as one of the best evangelical Southern Baptist Churches. The Huddleston's have two sons, Kaleb and Joel.
Pastor Jay holds a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary along with a Master of Arts in teaching and Bachelor of Arts in Speech, both from the University of Florida. He strives to see Christians grow in their knowledge and obedience to the word of God, to equip believers to serve the Lord and to build the church through worship, Bible study, evangelism, discipleship and fellowship.
